Yes your right i feel  he has been given a little bit of authority and its gone to his head. I didnt ask if i could leave a light on, he asked me what do you want electrics for and i said i want on leave a light on at night then he said if you do i will be coming round to tell you to turn it off. I explained it was a 5w and he didnt listen he interupted me and said it will disturb others. I am wondering if its worth it to make myself a member or not but i thought it would be more secure and safe for a female on their own if it was a members club.

I dont think he would have noticed to be honest, but when he asked why do i want electric and i said a light thats when he made his speech.  But on reflection its none of his damb business what i want electrics for, i paid for them and really thats all he needs to know. What if i couldnt sleep and i put on the light to make a drink or sit and read. The reasons for having electric is convenience and if its a cool evening maybe a heater and ime sure there any number of other reasons too.

Hi Rex.

I know you cant judge everyone the same, but i think when an interview is conducted it must come across if you are a people person. Is a shame because the C &CC have alot of lovely places from what i have seen and read, but its things like this turn people away. Like you say there are some who try to manage the people rather than the site. I agree the sooner they realise who these people are the better, but doesnt this happen in all walkes of life.. the last time my friends were there and they struggled with their tent a lovely gentleman came and helped put it up and peg it down too.

No i cant class all the same. But it does seem that tents arent really welcome. A review on Kendal said he had the same problem with size of tent and a long lecture from the manager

Yes we are taking solar light even if we have electricity. Not a good look having wet shoes. Your secret is out!!!!

I didnt ask about a light he asked me what i wanted electricity for and i said lights etc and he then said about asking me to turn it off. I havent heard of this before either from reading anything or from my friends. Well, never mind there is more than one camp site his loss.But i dont think they will miss my contribution becasue he says there are 5000 people go there every year.

I have never been asked why I wanted EHU before and have never been told to turn a light off either, I would have told him to mind his own damn business !

We take a UFO light with us and when we go to bed we turn off the electric light and leave the  UFO on the table in the main living area. We find it lights up the area without being obtrusive.

Hi Christina,

Windermere is the one C&CC site we have had problems on, don't be put off the others.  I made a complaint about staff there a couple of years ago, we got a very similar response to the one you had, I have no confidence that it made any difference, and won't be going back!  Its also the most expensive ice pack freezing I've ever come accross - 40p a block, and they gave me a hard time and said I should be paying more because our ice packs are bigger than usual! 

Did you get into Scarborough?  We have just come back from there, and really liked it. 

Mind you I have never booked direct with the sites, I always either use the central reservations number or book online.
