did consider moving it back a bit anyway.  couple of foot away would probably work better, as long as i can make a tunnel over the top

That's a good healthy holiday attitude Val. We take our time over pitching/setting out, and adopt the same attitude when packing up - we keep stopping for a pot of tea or a mug of coffee. The kettle is the last thing to be packed away before the tent comes down

I think we have become more able  in setting up camp now, and it does not seem half the fuss and bother that it used to.

As they say, ...practice makes Perfect!
