I am sure you are probably the only one - either that or you haven't been camping in severe wind!  Btw not everyone gets freebie pegs to say nice things about deltas.   People say nice things because they are a great product.  No one is saying you are not correct about your experiences or your friends experiences, but simply we have all had good experiences with deltas, not bad ones.  And with wire pegs I would suggest you loan out your peg fairy as everyone else seems to have the peg devil - that can be the only explaination to pulling tent pegs!

John...all I can do is repeat what I have said. I ressurected this thread from the archives simply to get an updated opinion on the Outwell blue plastic pegs that have just arrived with my new tent. Having seen some adverse comments about them I was not sure whether to use them or carry on with my trusty wire ones.

Several members have kindly responded and advised me accordingly and to them I am grateful...they know who they are. As a result I will give the blue plastic ones a try when I can next get camping and see how they behave. Thanks again to those who have advised me.  

Now...to Rob, Angie, and anyone else, I have no idea at all why you have come into this thread and commenced to harrass me over the issue of Deltas or over my comments regarding wire pegs. I have not mentioned one word about Deltas in this thread, least of all criticised them.

sorry been out all day.  as the tent peg pulls, it effectively pulls against the force - the physics of it rob can better describe than me, but all i can say is the forces seem to make the pegs tighter in the ground then when i put them in!  I must like them as I have spent around £50 quid on 12 plastic and 12 metal ones.  I also have to say that the metal ones are really really big!  I think they could be used very effectively for tethering a big top never mind my tent!

Bob - you and rob just seem to rile each other, however, check out dezzies post.  thats exactly what happens.  I was a non believer and when i had the plastic ones and tried them out i ended up spending £40 quid on some metal ones!

As for the metal pegs i still want your tent peg fairy!

Each to his own, John. I am not sure where 'non-believers' comes into it...sounds like a cult. You and many others prefer Deltas, I and lots of other people use wire pegs...I don't see where the problem lies or why there is a problem.

As for tent peg fairies if I am to be lambasted because I have said I've never had a problem with wire pegs then the mind boggles it really does.

You are taking things way out of context and way too personal.

Still horses for courses - i am gonna go and talk to my daughter now who is still awake with me - school holidays have a lot to answer for!

Thank you RibTime. And I presume they hammered in without problem? There have been reports of them snapping or bending.
