Field Barn Park? Hmm, would appreciate some feedback on that one too!
It was lovely Merry. I only stayed two nights, but the owner was very friendly, the facilities were immaculate, and the pitches were large with a water tap to every two pitches.
They've planted little trees and bushes between pitches, so in time each pitch will have a lot more privacy. They've also planted 'elephant grass' as dividers - never seen that stuff before The only drawback is that there isn't really a 'view' - you can only see the campsite & a field behind. There is a wonderful far reaching view from the lane, but the campsite is down a long drive into a bit of a valley.
I pitched the Robens tent on Tuesday night, then packed that one away on Wednesday morning & pitched the Raclet QT. I've decided that I'm getting a bit too long in the tooth for a low dome tent now. First time I've used the Raclet, and I'm very, very pleased with it. As it's got the SIG, I left the inner tent out & had loads of extra living space.
One thing to note if you decide to try this campsite Merry, take plenty of rock pegs with you and a claw hammer to remove them Lukily I had plenty of rock pegs with me, but..... no claw hammer. I found one peg just didn't want to leave the site, and all I had with me was the peg-puller and a pair of pincers - I ended up using both together to remove the little blighter - must have spent 15 minutes removing that one peg
I'd checked two weather forecasts on Monday night, and both looked good until Friday evening. However, the rain came early, about 11am yesterday morning, and looked to be set in for the day, so I ended up taking a soggy canvas tent down & stuffing it in two dustbin bags to bring it home. Ah well, it means I can pitch it again now on the lawn to dry it out
