LOL! My hubby snores for England. It's a really major problem for me as he also has a sleep disorder and stays up till 2 or 3 (on his own, very quiet). Then he comes to bed and wakes me up by snoring! Grr...

The only thing that helps is to lie the other way round to get away from the noise (his feet don't smell too bad) and pretend the snoring comes from the man in the next tent! I do this at home as well as camping. I think it helps to think there's nothing I can do about it as it's in the next tent.

I think perhaps if you're woken by snoring in another tent you might just be pitched too close

If you want plenty of space round your pitch.
Put a sign up saying "Loud Snorer pitched here"

See how much space you get.

I've heard people snoring....
We went to a site last year that was pretty quiet and could hear this "funny noise" from across the camping field, we sent the kids to investigate (as you do LOL) and they came back and told us that it was someone snoring ... Needless to say we all decided to investigate and I can honestly say that I have never heard anything like it (and the OH snores like a good-un!) Felt sorry for the people pitched nearer though.....
So that's how you found out that Bean snores lol!

We bought a device a few years ago for my OH, for when we were camping with friends. It looked like a wrist watch, but gave him a mild electric shock when he snored. it didn't always wake him up, just disturbed him enough to make him change his breathing. I found it really helpful, but he abandoned wearing it after it picked up my snores and woke him up.

My husband used to be a teribble snorer, but regular use of "Stop Snoring" spray did work, and after a couple of years he was able to stop using it and now only snores rarely.  HOWEVER, the last time we went camping, he had some kind of hayfever type reaction to the trees on the site and snored constantly all night, and even the snore spray didn't work (he bought some for the second night), but he was fine when we got home.

As for other people snoring - all the time.  It's the one good thing about having to go to the loo in the middle of the night: checking out the best snorers!  The winner so far was in a caravan, but he (I assume it was a he) still sounded like a Harley Davidson at full throttle.

I spent 35 years camping with Morris Men on dance tours and at folk festivals.  There is no bodily noise I haven't heard through the walls of my tent!

One does get used to it!

we arrived late at our campsite in Snowdonia this year, just as the sun was going down, so the noises of the night started before we'd finished pitching our tent...at one point i swear it felt as if i was on the set of a horror film...i'd never heard such awful deep throated growling in my life before, followed by loud snuffling and whimpering...if a huge bloodthirsty werewolf had chosen that precise moment to step out into the moonlight in front of me i wouldn't have been surprised in the slightest...

as the night wore on the growling was accompanied by loud whinnying as if the werewolf was now worrying a horse...this racket began at around 9pm every night and continued on until around 10am the following day, every single day of our holiday, but it didn't spoil our trip...it even got to a point where we'd be waiting each evening for the return of the wolf...
