Awww.......I am another zip lover!! Sensing a definite theme going on here.

I love the sound of the rain when I am warm and snug in my sleeping bag and find it really soothing. Like someone has already mentioned I love listening to the kids gentle breathing (and occasional snoring!) when they are zonked out after an active day.

For me, you can't beat the sight, smell and sound of burning wood on a fire or brazier. Team with the aroma of a nice red wine and clear sky where the stars go on for as far as the eye can see and you are sitting there trying to figure out if you can find any constilations (and feeling amazed by the enormity of the universe and your size in comparison) ........sigh........I just love it!

ps. Not forgetting the smell of frying bacon at breakfast time!! Bacon sandwiches are legendary when camping!!

Mine are all pretty standard too, it must be the whole reason we all like camping.

The sound of tent zips (ours as well as others)
The whistle of the kettle
The sound of sizzling bacon
The distant bleating of sheep
Distant traffic/tractors
Muted mumblings from other people
Very light rain on the canvas, provided you know it's only going to be in the night and not spoil the next day
The crows cawing in the trees at 5.00 am
My children breathing/snoring in their 'bedroom'

Sounds I can't stand:

The hard booting of footballs
Drunken shouting and laughter at 2.00 am
Loud music

The above three are not sounds I associate with happy camping!
