Came back tonight because heavy rain forecast from midnight and into the morning and I wanted to put my tent away while it was still dry. Still had a good couple of days though.
Popped home for a bath, stock the coolbox and feed the cat. We managed yesterday to put our tent up in between the heavy showers and reheat the chilli in the dry. OH & our friend had just started the washing up when the heavens opened and decided to leave until the rain stopped.
Another group of friends are also at the some show as us left their folding camper on the site the day before it opened, arrived last night to find that some kind people were using it to secure their tents and refusing to let them move it!!! So now they aren't able to camp with us and are camping in the middle of some right *****. I'd have got them to move it personally!
But never mind, we're having fun and the sun is currently shining. Let's hope it stays that way until Monday. Tomorrow is the big show day and hopefully there will be a few thousand cars on display.
Yep, at it at the moment, our second camping trip. This time in yetheridge farm camp site, mid devon. This time I remembered to bring the tent poles, but left me wife and daughter behind :) they saw the weather on friday and talked themselves out of it. Still, the Halfords tent special is doing very well except for the sleeping bags which I will be report to trading standards as they do not keep me warm enough to allow sleep. Good job I bought all 4 of them, will be using them all tonight :)
Having a great time overall with all the other experts in our party however , see y'all ;)
Yep, sitting in the FC at Polstead C&CC site, Suffolk. Our third trip since buying the camper and loving every minute of it, best nights sleep I have ever had while camping.
The site is perfect, smartest site we have ever used I think!
Just got back from pub, got feet up and chilling out now, weather is ok, not hot but dry.
Just packed up my kitchen tent ready for the off tomorrow. Have been here, thats Royal Umpire since bank holiday monday and will be leaving in the morning. its a lovely site and quite empty as its the school hols I would have thought it would be packed out.
had bacon barm for breakfast and a roast for lunch (using skillet)
Am dreading packing my tent as it was very muddy when I set up. Wi fi is throughout site so that is a great thing although a little slow. But glad to keep up with friends.
We're at Kingsbury Water Park near Tamworth. Been here since Friday lunchtime when the sun was absolutely blistering hot. We're in our new Gelert Horizon 10 which is pretty impressive to say the least. Going home Monday morning.
Yup, final trip of the year. We are just outside Padstow, Old Macdonalds farm, will review at end of holiday. Stealing wi-fi from Old Custom House in Padstow while waiting for dinner in Harbour Inn!
------------- Started with a motorbike and tent.......my gallery, my life.
Just back from Rothiemurchus near Aviemore. (Didn''t have the facilities to post at the time.) First time camping in September and it was great, so feeling pleased!
Just spent our first night away Llancloudey, just outside Forest of Dean. Simple but super campsite!
First time out with Outwell Nevavda M, no issues pitching last night, need to adjust what goes where inside, slightly windy and a few rain showers overnight, but a comfortable nights sleep.
Even our slightly camping phobic dog approves of the upgrade to a deluxe tent with SIG:)
sun peeping out and cockerel crowing whilst his 'wifelets' cruise the campsite for scraps. So laid back it's blissful:)
