Completely agree Rik,we went with our then tiny kids in a little two man tent,and had a ball.

 I would hate to think of anyone feeling inferior due to lack of kit or funds,it has taken years and I mean donkeys years since the age of seventeen till now some 30 years on to amass our kit and for most people this is the case..not many people these days can afford to go out and spend thousands in one hit(and they shouldn't feel they have to either)..but the amount spent over time soon mounts up,camping is literally for everyone,whether its a £20 or £2000 tent and the kit to go with it,as long as you enjoy what you do,that's what camping is about.

I would hate to add it all up. We have had numerous tents and the one we have now plus extension is nearly £1000. Plus all the chairs we have gone through, tables, EHU, kettle, toaster cupboards we have got oh lordy I dread to think.

I will say though, we have spent more than some on here and lots less than some on here lol.

I still cant decide whether to sell our Bear 4 and buy a second hand trailer tent. One must have we still have to get though is a toilet!! Goodness knows where we will put it though.
