Last time I used price match  the email said to print off and take into store, this was only a couple of months ago.

Dance before the storm and don't look back to where you've been.

If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, you obviously haven't grasped the gravity of the situation.

I don't want it I just need it.

Why the heck would they have left 1 x box but returned the 2nd to the depot?!

The courier company have said that the driver "forgot" the second box.

When I complained that they had left a 30kg box on the doorstep for a pregnant woman to bring in they apologised but after checking said as a signature wasn't required the driver didn't need to wait to see if anyone was home. The silly thing is now I've said your drive left an expensive tent on the drive for a pregnant woman to bring in, if they bring the second box on Monday (rather than I collect it) they won't leave it but will put a card through! Ridiculous.

I have a valid price match and am going to go in store and claim it. Does anyone know if you have to print off the email or can I just show the email with the reference on my phone?

I would hope in this day that they will accept the email on your phone.

Perhaps call the store first and check, this also lets them check the stock level before you waste your time.

The shop may need a hard copy of the email to process through the transaction and keep a copy with the sale..? Probably best to follow the request and take a hard copy of the email. "To take advantage of this offer please print this email, take it to your local store and show it to the duty manager."

If the shop is not close by I would call the shop to check stock levels as recommended by masekwm

I was told when I price matched a Bear Lake today that viewing the email on your smart phone is fine.

Why was I price matching another tent?

Well, I collected the tent box today, after waiting 30 mins waiting for them finding a box that was clearly not an Outwell box, I drove 30 miles home.

Opened the box and the tent has a red 01/12 label and the poles have a blue 11/11. They clearly say they must match so I'm guessing I have 2012 poles with a 2011 tent?

Keith, you must be annoyed by the way this is panning out. If you're planning on returning it, then hopefully you won't be liable for the delivery charges. Should you decide to return the tent, can you return it to a Go store?

Go said I should post it back to them, I insisted they arrange a courier which was done swiftly.

I then decided to take it a store so I could get the refund to buy another sale tent...

My car broke down on the motorway 5 mins from the store! So we came home towed by an AA van.

Just to add, I'm finding the people answering the phone at Go bloody annoying. I also find it astonishing that this tent has quite clearly been returned for some reason and yet has been sent out again.

They have some great bargains at GO, with or without the PM, so I would, and will, continue to shop there. BUT, after having had to return a couple of extendable poles, which both had the thumb screws missing, and after having had to ultimately cancel orders due to deliveries not being made, I have made it my mission to only shop in store (Luckily, only about half an hour away, for me), and to thoroughly inspect every single item, even if that means almost wrecking a box to get the damn thing out!!!
I would be very reluctant to buy a large clumsy item that is awkward to inspect, such as a tent, of course, but sometimes, you just have to take the risk, particularly if it's a bargain.
Their staff seem to be uneducated (merchandise-wise) and uninterested, their behind the scenes systems seem to be a complete nightmare, but they have some very good bargains. Maybe they should rename themselves "GO BACK"!!!

Hope you get sorted, masekwm.... don't forget to count to ten!!

Mucker, my experience of Go staff, since starting to investigate tents, has been very different.

The chap I spoke to gave me time and advice which has borne out to be accurate by the good people on here. He was very honest about the quality of the different manufacturers and how most customers wanted the largest tent for the smallest outlay without considering the quality of the materials.

I guess it was only one chap that I spoke to!

My first attemp at price matching with GO failed at the Blackburn store early last year, Lafuma California table £65 at GO against £45 at Riversway, but they insisted that the £10 delivery charge would need to be added even though I was collecting from store!, reason given was that Riversway was in a different town,  so I declined to pay £50.50 for and bought the table from Riversway later that day as I was working in Preston in anycase.

Next attempt was GO at Stockport last month for two Outwell 400R LX lanterns £50 each at GO against OutDoor Megastore in Liverpool £35 each, result got the lanterns for £31.50 each.

Stockport did try to factor the delivery charge in, but I promptly pointed out the Outdoor Megastore was offering Free delivery on orders over £50.

It's all good fun price matching with GO, you just have to pick the right store and member of staff, is what I have found. do your home work first and take it all into store on a print out.

So, what's the story, Keith? Did you send the Monty back and get a Bear Lake?

The Montana went back on Sunday. I then considered the Bear but when you add a proper canopy it's the same price as a Wolf!

I'm currently bidding on a Montana on eBay but unless the price is right I'll leave it.

I nearly bought a Bell earlier this week but with two kids, they suggested the inner wouldn't be thick enough for us to sit with a lamp on whilst they slept.
