I wouldn`t either. I`d phone.

But the phones locked in the car so they can't steal it...

Wish i'd found that tripod before i made mine!! lol, oh well

I have actually since contacted the site via email to see if they had been aware of the situation, i have yet to receive a reply

AFAIK the site has no warden (none that ive ever seen) and in this case the owner was away and her grand daughter was in charge, and rarely seen either

Im not the most confident of people so I didn't tackle the group direct, fearing id make an already negative atmosphere worse. It was Saturday, England has won a game and plenty of beer had been flowing. I'd already observed enough unhappy stares in our direction to realise our presence was annoying them (how nice is that, being made to feel in the wrong for just being there), and didn't want to chance a drunken reaction. We were all just relieved to hear them packing up on the Sunday.

I don't doubt there were some decent lads amongst the group, but it only takes one idoit.......

They`re out of stock though. Pity...I want one just for the garden!

Thanks for finding them! They look great. Although hubby still thinks he can make a better one *rolling eyes smilie*.

You can also get them here only slightly more expensive.

I`m really struggling with myself over buying that tripod barbie. Just the thing to hang my cauldron from....for the mulled wine, of course.

I have had a reply!

Quote: Hi, just received your E- Mail. I'm really sorry your weekend was spoiled by this group. Unfortunately it was my 1st weekend off since 1 st April when the site was opened for the season. Those people had never been there before apart from one of them who camped there about 8 yrs ago and also for many years when Mr Jones used to run the site. However I Have an address of theirs in the Registration book and I shall let them know that they will not be welcome again. In the meantime please introduce yourselves next time and i will gladly give you a discount. Im really greatful for letting me know, best wishes.

to say the people who laughed were morons would be an understatement!!!!

They'd make chavs look good. At one point all the kids were playing in the middle of the field, and their little one(2?) came over, despite being called several times he stayed with his? elder brother (12) one of my sons said to him "your mum is calling you" One of the women had come across and snapped at my son I'm NOT his mother!!!  OH had to sit on me at this point as I was still smarting about the bent tent comment!!!! with hindsight OH was right and these people weren't the sort you'd have a row with!!!!

the other people on the site more than made up for them tho

you really need to name and shame them. I don't want to pay to go to that site when the warden has another well deserved break. If you don't me and others could have the nightmare you just had.we all look forward to camping and we need to know the troublesome sites to avoid.our worst was in lyme-regis, dorset, can't remember the name but i will look it up if anyones interested. The warden wasn't there when we had problems and we left a day early rather than camp in what reasembled a football training ground.I wrote a letter to the site , and suprise ,suprise got no reply. Just what i'd expect fromn a site that takes your cash then lets all hell break loose........wendy

Wendy,

I’ve made my views clear and I think posting them again will be a little over the top. I agree that these sites need naming to save me having a rotten holiday at great expense. The site that Pyro went to sounds like it’s run by a well meaning owner and with the negative and positive information at hand I could make a judgement on whether to go or not. In this case I think I would use the site, but only having checked that the owners were on site.

‘One swallow doesn’t make a summer’ and I don’t think one bad bit of feedback will ruin a site. But I want to read truthful comment.

I’m still curious about what the views of the UKCS owners are regarding honest, negative comments. I hope they would welcome all comments, both negative and positive.

I think both positive and negative comments are helpful.  Negative comments should be constructive critism though and not just a general moan.
