my tunnel tent was unmovable last spring bank hol on a high peak in derbyshire with near gale force winds and lashing rain, a couple of other tents got trashed but our was brill, felt really secure and safe inside too, not like it was about to blow down, i do think the tbs made a big difference though!
It means 'Tension Band System' which is basically 'webbing straps' fitted diagonally between opposite side poles, in a tunnel tent. It's to keep the whole tent 'steady' in wind...
They can be a 'bugger' to trip over, when you wake up in the early hours slightly sleepy!...
We have a Gelert Alaska 8. We used it for the first time over easter and the site was very exposed, right on Morecambe Bay, but the tent stood firm, it did move around a little and hubbie did keep making sure all guy lines where firmly dug in, but it was great.
We are going to invest in some delta pegs though, just to be sure.

Well our Vango Oregon 800 had its first outing at easter and it did very well indeed. For the price we paid (£150) I have been very impressed as it was easy to put up,was solid as a rock once up (didn't use the middle tension band, only the ones near the inner tents) and was roomy inside.
Can't wait for the next trip!
Although the air beds were a pain,as one had a slow leak....
