Ior playing footy in the play areas. Peace and quiet at last!!
I'm such a Victor Meldrew I don't even like kids playing footy unless they ARE in a specified play area! It's torture for my poor dogs, tied up outside and not allowed to join in.
Whilst all dogs should be tied up on site I think some of the little angels ( not ) should be tied up too lol

No dogs running free on sites annoy me more than some kids, esp after daughter had 40 stitches in face after a oh so friendly dog 3 pitches down wanted her ice cream off her, now any dog that comes near her, after its owners ignore my request to put it on a leash , gets kicked all the way back to its pitch .

When we were in Cornwall last September, there was a man a few pitches along that around 7pm had a go on his Ukulele.
He was quite good and I thought this was amazing and quite enjoyed his playing. The peeps on the pitch showed their displeasure by the rolling of their eyes.
I suppose you can't please everyone all the time but I feel unless peeps are going out of their way to disturb the peace, playing music, tv and the playing of instruments is what we do, its all about consideration and respect.
Hi
Daily noise on site is unavoidable the loudest and longest
continuous noise are the site workers cutting grass, or trimming edges, motor vehicles, children enjoying themselves just been children, or a neighbors radio or TV,
in amongst the other every day noises on an average caravan and camping site. After dinner around 2000hrs a lot of the noise subsides but life as still to go on. this is the time people start to relax and really enjoy the things they come camping for and one of those enjoyments is music be it the playing a guitar listening to a radio or CD player or just watching TV. I think all who have had normal children and now got them will agree that they will go to sleep with music and TV noise in the back ground, it is only when we decide to retire that chit chat and soft music keep you awake my OH uses ear plugs and they work.
as most people have said if you need to listen to loud music or you need to turn it up to here it
use head phones. and be prepared to call it a night at 2300 hrs.
For our members who do not like to here all the normal sounds the only answer is the highland of Scotland or Dartmoor were you can be alone with the call of the birds sheep cattle, and the odd little grass hopper clicking away outside your bivvy.
No these days when the sites get full I think we have to accept all these noises, as for me I just turn them off
Regards
Rex

Hi liddenham.
Some children are so mollycoddled and spoilt that when they are put to bed they will not sleep if you drop a pin, this type of child in my opinion is not the normal run of the mill child.
I really thought you would know that,
Rex

Noise will only disturb you if you let it. What keeps people awake is not the noise itself its the anxiety about the noise or the fact that you don't like the noise concerned. We used to have a tent and we and our children have managed to get to sleep with a party still going on and people laughing etc (which turned out to go on until 4am but we only found that out in the morning!).
I agree with Rex ( never thought I would type that Rex ) We have never made an allowance for the noise level when any of our children have been sleeping or going to bed , they have always went to sleep with normal noises, hoover going , tv on , washing machine etc etc etc and they will sleep through anything on site or at home. On the other hand my sisters children are used to silence at nap or bedtime and are a nightmare when they stop over. The tv downstairs keeps them awake as my Sis turns it off at home till they go off lol.
you see so many 'wrapped up in cotton wool' kids on site its scary, surely we have all heard the cry from parents... ' dont touch that its covered in mud, get out that puddle' etc For Gods sake they are holiday !!!
Anyway sorry for going off topic lol

I have always found that my two can get to sleep with a normal level of noise, as can I. Richard, having worked nights most of his life can sleep with the brass band playing in the bedroom pod. What's more, if the weather has been kind, my two will have been in the fresh air all day and will be tired. There has even been the odd occasion when one of them has fallen asleep fully clothed. Oh and as for the mud and puddles bit - both my kids and their clothes wash. Memories are made of muddy kids enjoying their precious childhood.
Well I always said my daugher could sleep through an earthquake and she did last week When we go camping I have a radio on low in the tent mainly to listen out for weather reports - I dont normally bother about the weather but get quite fixated with it when we are camping. I have only once had a problem with loud music and that was last year. The music was on very loud all evening but then it came to midnight and they were still sat outside of their tent with the music booming
