10 years ago we fitted all our stuff in a Micra, comfortably, now we fill a Passat estate. I blame you-know-who's Infernal Guitar. I'm sure it's nothing to do with the extra dog, table, chairs, MUCH bigger tent, rugs, fleece blankets, etc, etc........

We have a Mini (the classic size) and there's definitely a knack to packing it all in well. Thankfully we only ever have two adults in the car so the back seats get the bulk of the kit. However, we mainly camp at car events with my brother and his wife and two youngsters and they have an old Mini Clubman Estate which has a bit more room than our saloon but not much. We're usually fully loaded but that just adds to the fun.

An old  BMW 330 tourer when there's only me and Ben so the back seats go flat and there's lots of room (but I manage to fill it to overflowing).

Got a Mazda MPV when there are 3 of us (which is hardly ever) so once some of the seats are out there's lots of room but the Montpellier takes up half of it!!

Audi A4 estate with a roof box, there's just about enough room when the dog is on the back seat but I have contemplated getting a trailer, just not so keen on the thought of trying to reverse down country lanes with one though

Classic Mini for me!!
You
can see a picture of her in my gallery images.

Can get away with using the mini if it's just me and 2 youngest going away - there really is an art to fitting everything in.

For longer trips away or when the whole family is going I use my other car which is a Toyota Hi Ace Super Custom which has acres of space (I've never actually managed to fill it)

Land Rover Defender 90 station wagon - the bin is quite small but we manage to get everything in for 2 of us without completely blocking the rear view.

The scary thing is, whether we go for 1 night or 2 weeks, there's not much difference in the amount of stuff.

We have something called a Vauxhall Signum. It's supposed to be a replacement for the Omega but it isn't, though we can get all our stuff in without using a roofrack & it has lots of toys.

Used to have an Omega Estate, & before that a saloon. They were proper cars & I miss them. Proper engines too with plenty of cylinders.

Hiya fellow siggy owner! Guessing by the last line you haven't gone for the V6 then?

We're off this summer in our signum with just us two and our two (maybe three if we've got a foster with us) mutts. Going to slide rear seats forward and take parcel windy out shelf thingy out for three dogs in back. The tent is going on the back seat along with kitchen box, clothes bag and bedding/airbed & pump and the food and beer are going in the rear footwells!

Considered a roof box but won't get one as none look good enough to go on our car!! (we've got the full irmscher bodykit with quad tail pipes and chrome trim, mirrors and handles)

ps I'ts supposed to be a hatchback version of a vectra as it's in between the size of the astra estate and the vectra estate. Which is all academic now as both the signum and the vectra have been replaced by the insignia (hence the name)
