I don't think EHU makes a great deal of difference to the behaviour of campers, but the sites with lots of entertainment facilities tend to be busier, and the sheer size of some sites means there's bound to be some unwanted noise, just by force of numbers.

On the tiniest site we've ever been on, with no EHU and only 11 pitches, the owners told us they had been very busy over the bank holiday, and if we'd been there, we probably wouldn't have had a view...

...as we were over the hedge side of the field, and would have had tents between us and it.   I must admit, I love my view!

Talking of small pitches...there is plenty in the 'Tiny Campsites' book with just 5.  usually no facilities...

On our first camping trip this year for my mums 74th birthday with the 2 grandchildren ( 7 & 8 )  4 tents and a pop up gazebo pitched at the back of our tent not a problem until 9pm till around 2.30am,  I think I heard all their life stories (the kids were complaining they could not sleep they did eventually) the family of tents were going on a bike ride the next morning and had set their alarms for 5.30am onwards they did not rise till around 9am must have been all the wine they had drunk,  I am an early riser the granchildren were awake around 7am lying in their sleeping bags discussing (quietly) what they were doing that day

The lady from the family of tents arms folded said the children were rather loud could they be quiet,  well I was speechless but in a calm dignified manner I said that I had not complained about their lack of respect from the night before

That night all was quiet after 10.30pm
