Oh I feel truly awful.....I think I must be so strange as to not want to own a canvas but I can't help it....I'm so sorry, I feel as if I've let you all down
It took courage to admit how I feel and now I'll go sit in the corner with my head hung low
Oh,don't worry,my DH isn't overwhelmed by canvas either (see earlier post),he enjoys camping though, and it's me that gets the last word on the tents since he has made some terrific faux pas with tent choices in the past and no way am I parting with either Maisie or Evie!
Come out of the corner,it leaks there!!

It's OK Daveslisa, tent lust is very much like well, actual lust. It takes all sorts to float your boat or 'peg your tent'. David Beckham's never done it for me but there are plenty who wouldn't let down his airbed .
Oooooohhhhhh ooooohhhhhhh I've just brought Monterey 4 home to with me. He bought a carpet and the footprint (I succumbed to posh undies afterall).
When, I pluck up the courage to a) put him up, b) admit to my affair to the OH (who doesn't suspect a thing), I'll post some pics of us together. (BTW I'm not as profilate as this might sound on the ££ front, as I've just received my Mother's inheritance money and decided to treat myself, she'd have approved.)
Reading this thread has made me realise that all the woman coming to look round our Tipi were just doing that ! Just looking smelling the bloody tent lol

And you thought it was your manly charms and aftershave!
i have the same problem. i walked past a camping shop in town last week (never even knew we had a camping shop) and saw a poster showing the Icarus 600...i am in love!! i need this tent, it would be perfect for me and my 3 year old to go away in and one of the teenagers if they wanted to come. thing is i really can't warrant a new tent when i have a brand spanking new tent waiting to be used for the first time next month!! i also don't have a spare penny to go anywhere else this year so just no point getting it let alone not having a spare penny to even buy it!! that's not to say that i haven't thought about getting it during the winter ready for next year!!

think tent lust is contagious, the wifey has got a really bad case of tent lust, she's not content with the kalahari 8 (only pitched 3 times) she's now eyeing up a "smaller" tent "just for the weekends and sites with small pitches" but she's a bugger for a bargin and is trolling ebay for "ideas" and insperation.. i can feel a divorce coming on, would probably be cheaper than buying numerous tents!!
any suggestions for a cure?
------------- tents.. there, beer.. there, party.. here
incubus! dont know what your complaining about!!! managed to wangle it so that the Kalahari 8 has only cost us the grand total of £43 if I carry on this way they will end up paying us to have a smaller tent lmao!!! now stop complaining before I really do divorce you and leave you with custody of the kids!!!! now shut up and buy me another tent!! hee hee
