Porta-potties rule!  .... but ...  I worry that the chemicals involved are worse for the environment  than weeing alfesco .  Never thought about someone pee-ing over a pitch  before...  but next camp, I'll be most paranoid about it! thanks! .

.. Mmmm have to admit, wasn't camping at the time but  7-months pregnant and car broke down in quiet spot and did so an al-fresco...behind bushes of course.

Re site cleanliness, we always tidy-up, every teeny bit that meets the eye, but albeit our fastidiouness, I imagine we unintentonally might miss a bit (a crumb?). Likewsie, I've never been offended by the odd cig. butt or end of crayon or tent peg, most of us don't do it on purpose (or am I being too naive?).

I think caravanners are the worse - they get into their lovely warm caravan, switch on the telly, and stomp up and down all night to their loo's just to annoy the tenter next door.

Seconded my motorhomers, who get up early, slam about folding up beds etc. and then p-off on day trips before you get a chance to say hello

Tenters are maybe a bit shyer because once you have 'introduced' yourself you 'know' the person, and then its more embarassing to think that someone you 'know' can hear every word you say!

I think anyone who starts stereotyping according to the outfit is as bad as the folks who can't be pleasant.

Me? I'll say hello to anyone, I don't check out what they are camping in first. A cheery hello and offer of a cuppa, and/or loan (which really means donation!)  of some washing-up liquid usually is a good ice-breaker!
