We recenlty stayed at a site in Dorset It was fine the first weekend and I quite enjoyed the fact the children were playing and running around together enjoying the outdoors even if it was after 10.00, but on the second weekend a group arrived, Ignored the siters 6 mt rule, sited the swingball closer to our tent rather than their own, when the children couldnt be bothered with the giant bubble wands the adults proceeded to wave the bubbles again next to our tent. They played music so loud they had to shout above it to be heard up until 11pm then continued to to talk until the early hours. When the warden came round and was surprised we were leaving early we said it was due to our nieghbours, they said they had kept them awake too! Several of our fellow campers like us packed up and left. My husband said we were off to Glastonbury it was quieter.
Still as we left 3 cars roared onto bulging with campers. Pitched in the little space left by a vw camper van the other side of our neighbours. They looked and sounded as if karma had arrived for the noisy inconsiderate campers.

I know this is old and not sure what site you were on plus most of us, albeit with 4x4s, were tenters, but we have stayed on sites when attending rallies (motorsports) and have to leave at seriously silly hours. We try to pick our sites so we can leave our vehicles away from the main drag and always tell them the situation. Moffat CCC site we'd park outside the gates - except the year the parking area was being dug up and they let us in with the vehicles and opened the gates early for us, for which we were very grateful. We asked when we got back if anyone had complained (six cars and a motorhome leaving at 5.30am) and no-one had heard anything. At Speyside CCC, if we had to leave early, we were put at the top of the site where we'd not disturb people and could avoid the gates. We also go the extra mile by ensuring flasks filled the night before for the essential cuppa (we breakfast on our camp stoves once in our location, so no cooking noises) and making sure everything we need is in our vehicles the night before.
The only person I'm aware who complained was when I got an emergency message to get home asap (relayed by the Warden as no mobile reception) and had to pack up tent in the early hours. The complainer wasn't anywhere near my pitch and my colleagues, all pitched in the same area didn't hear anything except one, who is always up at 4am anyway.
