Hi,
We like Fforest Fields for a nice quiet calming time. We go knowing that for some there is not much to do but for a few days of rest & relaxation its fits the bill!!
I could never say that there are small pitches ...this photo was taken a few weeks ago ;
Car 1 side ( not in photo ), then our tent ....then our conservatory ( as Mucker called it ). ;
But as said each to their own we all have our needs & preferences.
Fforest Fields for us is total chill out time. We've been a few times now and done the visitor attractions in the area, showcaves, red kites, owl centre, Elan Dams, etc but we still love going back just for the peace and relaxation. We do always fit a trip to Hay in though as we love it there. Thinking of maybe having a longer drive to the coast on this next visit. That said, most of the week will be spent relaxing on site, shopping and a meal out in Llandrindod, takeaway from Builth. It basically has everything WE need.

Bad weather can happen any time, anywhere, and not within FF's control.
One finds enjoyment while camping, regardless of weather.

Well we've been here 4 nights up to now and I am totally chilled out!! The weather has been amazing, it's been great to hear so many people making use of the lake - although I wish they'd clear off later on when I want to take sunset photos
Still got 5 nights to go, I'll be so laid back I'll be horizontal by the time I go home!!

We were there this weekend, wasn't impressed with pitch size, as had a tent within 6ft of us, space for the car the other side and a slither of grass in front of the Icarus.
Booked again for bank holiday but need to find something for the kids in the local area.

Also lots of noise from those in the bell tent.
Wow where abouts were you? I can't think of any pitches that small here. We're on the pitch directly behind the facilities block so not far from the bell tent, but can't say we noticed too much noise, we've been here since Friday.
Can highly recommend the national showcaves for a visit, kids will love it and there's also a butterfly centre out the same way and an owl centre in Kington, been to all three and they're all well worth a visit. Hay on Wye is a lovely day out, lots of book shops aswell as other nice shops and places to eat.

We are going on Sunday and I can't wait - am currently in Scotland doing *drying out * duties! Nerves are decidedly jangled so will be in desperate need of rest and relaxation which is exactly why we choose to return to Fforest fields. We like to chill , walk and soak in the beautiful surroundings, the dogs love the walks and the lake and even the kids , 19 and 22 , still love to come though not sure yet if both coming or not. The sheer flexibility and understanding of Katie and George are another huge plus for us as we had to change our dates due to a communication problem between hubby and me! Only 4 more sleeps!!
This was our tent one Friday, when we returned Saturday we had to put the car behind the tent as the space where the mat is in the photo was taken by the guys from a tent next to us. This left us with the grass in front of the tent rather than the nice open space every one appeared to have next to the tent.
I hope you all tried the delicious icecreams stocked at FF.
My favourite is coffee.
