Wow...single camper issues.

Never thought about that scenario.

I think it is acceptable for any parent to have reservations about anything that makes them feel wary no matter if rational or not. It's called judgement and the word itself has negative connotations.

What is very wrong is to express those issues verbally in such a manner described.

I would hope this is not the norm.

I sincerely wanted to leave this and let the thread move on but I have to respond to the above.

I almost see your point but have to disagree. My experience is caused by unfounded bigotry. To agree with you would be like saying it's OK to be racist or homophobic so long as you don't say so too loudly.

For all the humour and emojis - I do get regarded with suspicion voiced loudly enough for me to consider it a hint to leave. (I don't.) It's getting worse - to the extent the summer is not camping time for the likes of me anymore.

Why would you be wary or make any kind of judgment - snap or not? I can only assume there is some history of ne'er do well lone campers I'm unaware of. Could someone please tell me what the problem is as I'm actually getting quite fed up with it.

Well I think it is a disgrace that this is happening, I do think those campers need to take a long look at themselves in the mirror...they have the torches already may as well add the pitchforks.

I agree with most of the comments about camping etiquette, whether it be tent camping or caravanning.

I honestly don't think it will ever change as there are people who basically do not give a hoot about anyone but themselves and always will.
They are not taught how to use common sense and have very little manners and their children grow up the same.

My wife and I use our caravan many times during the year but my wife hates tent camping. I have always tent camped since a boy and still enjoy getting away on my own or sometimes with my son.
My mates who I camped/backpacked with for years are now past it..or so they say..softies!

I used to take my Border Terrier with me but don't any longer due to children wanting to come over and pet the dog and parents screaming at them to come away.
Which as has been said is a sad sign of the times.
I am a father and grandfather so sort of understand parents attitudes but it was never our method of parenting with our own children but at the same time making them aware of certain situations without making them believe every lone male or female is a danger.

I would rather the children didn't come over but not a lot I can do apart from not taking the dog, which I now do, unless I use an Adult only site!

I can understand how some lone campers just give up.

Don't worry about agreeing with me I am not offended. Bit disgruntled that you didn't mention anything about religious intolerance though.

Prehaps the admin staff should write an article or pin this subject because there are many common points in this thread and it will hopefully highlight the issue for those who are new to camping.
i agree with
1) No bubbles
2) no loud conversations after 11pm
3) no generators during unsocial hours

I love the sound of zips and flipflops!....although not necessarily at the same time!
