Sooo sorry - been on the BBC gardening boards - well, it IS spring!
Ok - ABC are complete outlaws, as we know. Khyam said they would repair the tent free of charge. The whole thing was so incredibly stressful, we decided to cut our losses and accept the repair - especially as Khyam had done it anyway without our say so. Our credit card company looked into it and they advised us that we could well lose a small claims action and anyway, Khyam have discontinued the tent (speaks for itself) so there isn't much residual value in it anyway.
We learned some good lessons, though. NEVER NEVER NEVER deal with ABC; do more research via this site before shelling out lots of dosh and ask any dealer what would happen if the tent arrived damaged if it couldn't be inspected by us both before delivery.
When we eventually get the tent up to inspect the repair, I may well need to let off more steam, but I can't thank the people on this site enough for your advice and support - you are all fab
