right, ive read all your posts, and yes i can agree with both sides, but you may have to remember, that yes it is nice to get away, leaving all the stresses back home, enjoying the countryside, letting your children use their imagination, but when you have a mentally and physically disabled child that does not cope with change at the best of times, he does need some of his comforts from home. He has learned to make friends out of complete strangers in a few hours, a major achievement for him, learnt to sleep in a ready bed,and having to wear pjs before bedtime, to stay warm before he gets cold, we have to make a comprimise somewhere along the line to help the experience of the camping trip enjoyable for the rest of the family. The playstation etc stays at home, but dvd player and tv come with us, would be hell on earth on a rainy day stuck in a tent with him, as he hates the cold and wet, so you try and take him sightseeing then!!!!! Both him and his younger brother have been admired for the fantstastic manners and behaviour, so we cant be doing much wrong By the way if you happen to see two boys running around the beach in just their shorts and t-shirts, mum hugging her fleece with a windbreak around her and dad beach casting, thats us.HAPPY DAYS

isnt camping about getting away from it ALL >>>:????
Camping is about whatever you choose it to be , its also about not imposing your type of holiday on others who may lik esomething different.
Very well said, cant stand these 'holier than thou' attitudes. Each to their own, it's your holiday, if you want to take a tele, ignore the snipers and take one
Many thanks for all the posts, but this thread ends here, we've been over this over and over, and it seldom ends in anything but a slanging match
Cheers
Ian
