Hi everyone

Was looking forward to testing out our new Gelert Tahoma 6 today, that we recieved as an Xmas pressie.

Got the poles out and some of them were broken. Not amused. Packed them back in the bag and going to take them back to Go Outdoors (GO) later this week

I don't think they stock these anymore so anyone got any suggestions of what to get. We'd love the Diablo 600 but it's a little more pricier (on sale at £239 at the moment at GO). The Tahoma 6 was purchased for £149 plus we have a £25 gift vouchers for GO (from a previous dodgy tent experience from there last summer!!)

Anyone got any suggestions of what we could get. I had eyes on the Alaska 8 as well. We'd like at least 6 berth an a comfortabel living area with at least 6ft height

Thanks
Unhappy

My suggestion: GO somewhere else for your tent!!

I have no idea about the tents you are asking for but Gary at CrossCamping is really helpful.

I'm sorry to here about that, I can't really recommend a tent as I don't know what types fit what you want but I hope you come to a decision that makes your camping happy.

Sorry to hear about that. If you still fancy the Diablo 600 the 2006 model is on sale at the moment at camperlands in Manchester for £209

Have a look at the KhyamYale in my gallery web link. You can choose wether to have 1,2 or no bedrooms. We much prefer it to our old Diablo 400 and its in your budget at £149. Sorry your pressie turned out to be damaged.

Go Outdoors price match, so this shouldn't be a problem...

Best of luck with it!

It looks like we are vying towards a Gelert Alaska 8

We are going to try an haggle with Go Outdoors for a straight swap with the damaged Tahoma 6 they gave us at £149....no harm in trying

Does anyone see this as a wise purchase. Ease of pitching etc?

I've just got last years Alaska 8 from GO Wakefield (always be Mitchells to me) my uncle got one last year due to a slip up from GO he got it for £149 should have been £199 so I think they'll accept your request.

BTW I really like the Alaska easy to pitch and very roomy stood up well to a thunder storm last Aug no leaks and sturdy too.

P.S if they do give you the Alaska post some pics as I want to know the differance between 2006 and 2007.
