Just a quick question, does anybody know anywhere in the midlands or anywhere that can repair the gound sheet on our aspen, we kinda melted the middle part of ot about 2ft by 2ft and its in deperate need of repair ha ha. Any help would be great. many thanks
Camping shops sell groundsheets, and you can either use duct tape or glue on a patch. Or both.
Vango would possibly put in a new groundsheet for you, at a price. Or ask at your local camping shop for the nearest tent repair place. I`m sure it can be done.
Were you cooking in the tent, btw? It`s always useful to know what causes accidents, so the rest of us can avoid doing it!
What's the grpund sheet made of? Vinyl, PVC (probably). And how big is the hole in it? Really 2x2 feet or a number of smaller holes in that area? If PVC or similar I suggest you buy some PVC glue and/or a dinghy repair set or get some piece of PVC otherwise. This may even be a piece of a cheap plastic table cloth from the 'household store'. In case of a small puncture the PVC glue will work just like that, if larger glue a piece of that PVCfoil on the groundsheet. In fact if the proper material is used this will last as long as the tent itself. I used PVS glue for permanent repair of small damage to the groundsheets of my own tents.
