Hi inconsequential, I think the Montana you will need around 15 to 20 to secure all the main guys.

rickit thanks for that. Do you use Deltas? Was thinking that maybe 4 metal ones for the corners and the rest in plastic - a good idea?

If they go in the ground the plastic are as good as the metal, if the ground is too hard then you will need all metal.

can anyone tell me how many Deltas you would need for a 2006 Diablo 600?
Do you really need one for every guy line or just a few?

I intend getting some delta's for my Vango Kirkwood/Killington 900, but for the corner points where 3 guys are pegged in the same place I use the spiral metal stakes (used for tying up dogs) I use one in all four corners and they would not move an inch in a hurricane.

Hi inconsequential, yes we use Delta pegs but only the plastic ones. Never had any issues with the plastic ones even with our very large Dome tent and thats been in some very windy situations. Metal ones do look good though.

We have Delta pegs and swear by them.  We went away over Easter and the first night was very windy.  It was good to lie in warm sleeping bag knowing the tent would still be there in the morning.
