When I were a lad, my Dad used bungees to secure tent, suitcases, all kinds of stuff to the roof of our Datsun Sunny, which made it all the way to the south of France without dropping anything.

Having said that, I always use ratchet straps, they are much more secure.  Also, I drive a tad faster than my Dad!

Hey!!!!

Just wondered if anyone could advise me, I have just bought a new roof box and bars and wondered the best way to tie on windbreaks to the bars...Bungees or ratchet straps?  Thought it would be best to check in with you guys before deciding!

dont bother with those  stupid  elastic bungee things with the  hooks on  when  they  Twang  and  slip out of your fingers they  put lovely  scatches on  car roof  ,,  mine did ..    i  used to  just lash the  windbreak on with some  polyproplene  rope  or paracord  ,,something like that a  few times round and  pulled  tight
