We have 4 at the moment and are looking to buy a 5th:

One canvas C-frame for medieval re-enactment (that's the one in my gallery).

One large 4-berth tunnel for long (1 week plus) trips away.

One 4-man dome with twisted poles that leaks in heavy rain and was last used 2 summers ago and really ought to be binned.

One 2-man dome last used too long ago too remember - up at my partner's dad's house - no idea what state it's in.

We're currently on the hunt for a little light-weight 2-4 person tent to do us for festivals and over-nighting.

Until I discovered this forum I thought we were wierd but apparently I have barely scaped the surface of tent collecting with only 4 tents.  We haven't actually used either of the small domes since buying one with a living area and now I have one with a big living area I'm not sure how much I'll use the other one.  But for some reason we hang onto them, just in case.

Only have 1 tent at present. Not been away yet (only put up in garden and spent a couple of nights in it) and OH is already saying we should get another for the weekend trips cos thats what everyone else seems to do!

Well I'm glad so many of you share my logic. I've had to agree to the one-in-one-out approach now that we have 4 family tents and one each for the boys' sorties on their own - I'm not trusting a teenager with one of my precious cotton tents!

I love the idea about taking a small tent for the last night of a trip so the main gear is all packed dry - I usually go home a day early if the weather might not last - in 10 years of camping, though, I've never packed up in rain!

thanks all!

We have 2 a lightweight for weekends and rely on our 29 year old Andre Jaime frame tent for longer single place holidays. (we took a loan out to buy this tent for £199 in 1978) think we have had our moneys worth, we tried to list the holidays we have had but lost count at 26+

We have two at present but I'm after a third.  Hubby thinks I'm nuts but it looks as though I'm normal after reading other comments.  You've got to have a tent for all occasions haven't you!?

1 large frame for main holidays
1 30 year old frame given to us recently in great condition
1 Dome for weekends
3 x pup tents for the kids
1 dome that the cat climbed up repaired with duct tape for garden sleepovers
2 x beach shelters

Only problem is where to put them - 2 frames are behind the settee at the moment!!!
