in the interests of good neighbourliness and because i don't like guns i bought an electronic thingy.  Too early to tell if it works but nothing else has.

they poo when i am not looking so the water pistol won't work :(

There are 3 cats that come into the garden lay in the sun and go to sleep (until I go out and get rid of them) so I don't think it is any of those.

There's a new one on the scene which I have seen shi**ing in the front garden as we have gravel in there and the swines think that is cat litter!

 LOL - but the question was how do you stop a Cat peeing on your tent.  How to stop a dog would be another thread - and I would probably keep quiet to that one as I don't know the answer. 

I was going to start a new thread 'how do I stop Walter the woodpigeon from pooing on my car?' but I already know the answer - get a cat.  Hmmm, I better read this thread again from the beginning.

Leave a bowl of it in your garden, cats love it :o) They will come from all around to get a taste then ... all your areas local cat owners notice about a week later there cats havn't come home and you have had to make several trips to the local river with some bin liners and a couple of bricks.

Problem solved.

I have a lurcher, and in his old age he is not really up to long walks rabbiting. So now I like to help out the local's by 'catting' Its ever so funny to watch a cat sit on top of the garden fence thinking its hard believing it is safe, only to swing open the patio doors, shout 'hup' and see my dog leap up and rag the dam thing round and play with it like a toy.

If your cat rips up my plants or pee's on my patio, dont expect to see it again :o)

Never had cats peeing against my tent, but several dogs did so on campsites.
In my garden I just flush shrubs used by cats. That seems to be the most effective. The smell vanishes and the acid too or is diluted. The spot than somehow is considered too old to mark again. So no more peeing for some time. As soon as I discover a new spot I spray water again.
