Its caused by your body heat hitting the colder air in the bed and condensing. Try putting a roll up camping mat on top of the bed under your sleeping bags, you could secure the mat and old sleeping bag in place with a fitted sheet.
Hi Hippy will that work with a readybed, cos I have bought those following another thread, since the covering on top of airbed is thin,I plan to wedge mat between both to avoid any damp and increase warmth too.
Yes it will work with a ready bed, both my boys have single ready beds and I put a camping mat with a blanket on top between the air bed and sleeping bag. I had to cut some of the length of my youngest's mat as he only has the junior not the standard single but the width was fine. Its a bit of a bu**er getting in in place but once there it works a treat.
I have tried rolling the beds up with everything in place, but they are just too bulky to go back in the bag, have toyed with the idea of getting a bag for a double sleeping bag.
My boys also have homemade fleece liners in their ready beds and they are always toasty warm, even on frosty nights, in fact my eldest quite often wriggles out of his liner as he is too hot!
