Yeah Janso, leatherman for me too. I have it on my belt every day for work, so I feel like I have to take it away with me just in case...

As for quirky....hmmmm not sure if it qualifies, but I shelled out for a coleman oven from the states.  Brilliant piece of kit that sits on my dual fuel and works a treat. Just need to use it a bit more often

Sharky! Just looked at your profile piccies. Where is it you were camped, it looks stunning!

I've tried all types of stove top toasters and found this one to be the best

I've got to agree, this is one handy piece of kit, far better than the "hotplate" type that takes 4 slices of bread.

Hi China, it was our first trip out in the new tent. End of March / beginning of April at Ardgarten in Argyllshire. Gorgeous weather for Scotland which made it a perfect weekend.

Quirky or useful? I always pack the washable rubber backed (cotton) door mat from our front hall as it stops mud/wet coming into the tent (but not the house at the same time if OH stays at home!!)

Also non-slip blue mat stuff you buy in a roll from IKEA and cut up. Stops stuff sliding off the table (I have NEVER managed to find a flat pitch to camp on).

String and clothes pegs.

Headtorches are more useful than hand-held

Oh - and I just got one of those bendy tripod things for the camera - so you can take groups shots with you included, and fix the camera to a branch, fencepost, tent pole etc.

O man, ford have just sent me the new ford s-max magazine....the car comes with a built in sliding table and built in coolbox as an option. The illustration shows it being used for camping...they flipping know me don't they. The salesman will be rubbing his hands when i walk through the door......i love quirkyness!!!!
Dont be fooled by the cool box, we have just got a new Touran with a coolbox in the glove compartment (no i didn't buy it for that, i bought it 'cos i liked the colour) all it is is a hole that lets the air in.  It does work a little but not that useful.  The car is good and the colour is fab

Yes, My OH has a new vw with the coolbox built in.....can't fit much in it though......keeps my phone cool anyway ..... the s-max has a full size jobby in the boot if you want it.
