When my tent broke I cut it up and have spares for everything. The best part was I took the waterproof bottom off the bedroom and now use it as a boot cover, they cost £5+ to buy in the shops.
I now have extra everything and I use the bag for my old tent as storage for spares, mallets and repair kit etc.
As for a first aid kit I use the one for the car, On top of what you get in the kit I have paracettamole, ibroprofin, anihisthamine tablets and cream, calpole 2mnth+, extra plasters, micropore tape, a decent pair of scissors - cause the ones you get in the kit are rubbish, a resus mask (the ones with the valves). And must put some after sun in there too. A bottle of water is handy for cleaning out cuts/eyes etc, make sure you replace it regually. Wet wipes and tissues are also handy always have some in the glove compartment.
I highly recommend the anihisthamin tablets as my cousin got stung by a jelly fish in cornwall one year, she came out of the sea pale, calmmy and disorientated, we were starting to think about taking her to A&E when my mum found some AH. tablets in her bag, just 15 minites after taking a tablet she satrted to recover.
