As newcomers to camping. (The last time was with the scouts some 45 years ago). OH and myself have just bought a Khyam Freelander. Watched the tutorial DVD a couple of times to learn how to erect it and set to in the garden. 8 and a half minutes from start to pegging out the last guy ! Could have been done better as practice will show. but what a fantastic designed tent. Niether of us are very agile but the pole design makes for very easy erecting.

Can't wait for our first weekend away.

As a quick follow up to our enthusiasm over our practice run.

We shot up to Hawes to try things out for proper. Tent was brilliant for the 2 of us. The site fantastic with really pleasant and helpful owners.

Just keeping things basic,(well, thats the intention)

sleeping bags, sleeping mats, small stove, table and chairs.

Now TOTALLY ADDICTED

Hi fixby.
As you say stay basic!for a weekend, but camping can also be fantastic with all the add-ons when you stay for one or two weeks, just think you are a rich Arab sheik on one of his desert trips.

Rex
