Perhaps a "safari" type roof load carrier might be an longer term option then - you could carry the spare wheel and perhaps a small bike laid flat on that, leaving the space in the trailer for all the heavy camping stuff. Time to leave it all for now, and get on with planning/enjoying the weekend!

Blimey.... isn't it amazing what you miss when your off the site for a day...

PC's went down at work yesterday, and TalkTalk was down at home... nightmare.

OK, trying to keep up with you all now... Not sure about removing the tyre on my Rav4 as it has a mounting block for the wheel which will probably get in the way of the straight bar.... also, can't get a Towbar mount and a High Mount as there's just no room to fit both.....

I seriously think I'll end up having to go with the bikes on the roof of the Rav at this stage....just so I have flexibility of taking them with or without a trailer! I can get four mounts for roof bars off ebay for £50.00, so cost is not an issue.... but I will persevere, and watch on here for others perseverance on a better reolution....

Just watch out for low bridges/car parks - and that high centre of gravity when going round bends!
