Hi All,

DILEMA !!!!

We are off monday for the week and I cant wait to get the SV8 wet but OH is not so keen, she has this crazy plan :

Why dont we delay going till the rain stops (better sell the tent then); maybe tuesday wednesday, I pointed out it's booked and regardless when we go I am going to pay the site owner for the week as he could have let the space.

OH thinks I am nuts wanting the tent to get wet as that probably means we all get wet putting it up and is challenging my morals as why pay for something you don't use.

Here is my dilema, I can demand we all (2 adults 3 kids) brave the weather and embrace all that the outdoors has to offer or stay in the warm, dry house and waste our lives and money on mind numbing TV and video games.

I know which one I'm in favour of but I have heard divorces are expensive these days so I dont know wether to put my foot down.

Would it be the end of the world to go on Tuesday instead of  Monday? Not sure what the forecast is but if its sunny/not raining it would be easier than trying to pitch in the pouring rain with 1 adult and 3 kids who don't want to be there.

You could always agree to stay for the BH as long as there is no tv, video games and you spend a lot of time outside even if it is raining...maybe a long walk.

I know you'll still have to pay for the Monday but if the weather is then better at least you'll be able to stay for the rest of the week -if you force every-one to go you may end up coming home on Wednesday anyway!

Snap - we're going on Monday with our SV8 for the rest of the week, and I can't wait, despite the forecast.  I agree wholeheartedly with Piglet.  This is England after all and you can't sit around waiting for dry weather.

Hope you can persuade her, and enjoy your week.

Yep we are just going for it too, it usually rains when we get our tent out but it hasn't put us off yet.

Where are you going?  I've just seen a forecast and half of the UK will be dry on Monday now, according to them.  I think you should go regardless, but if you check the weather for your site, it may be fine anyway.

Yes, I'd say go for it.  We're taking our 3 kids camping for the first time up to North Wales on Monday (age 2, 5 & 6). The BBC weather has been more wrong than right at the moment.  Should it rain, I don't think it will spoil the kids enjoyment.  I'm taking lots of board games & books just in case.
