Sat here watching the rain falling waiting for a break to pack the car. I am off to Cornwall in the morning for the first outing in my new Minnesota 6. Hope the forcast on MetCheck is accurate as it looks like it might be dry tomorrow afternoon when I am pitching the tent. Keeping my fingers crossed
HapperCamper99, we are in the same position as you. Hoping to go away tomorrow for two nights to test the tent/gear in preparation for our two week holiday in August. Getting all the stuff ready now and may resort to praying before bed to ask for some divine intervention about the weather!!
HappyCamper and saintmum, Why didn't you go camping this weekend ? You knew the weather was going to be bad.If you're off tommorrow and the weather is fine what are you going to test?

We are off tomorrow as well. Couldnt go for the BH weekend as I bought OH tickets to see Il Divo last night in Manchester. My seat was a total waste of money but OH came away ecstatic so not a total waste of money I suppose.
Corpogreen. Lots of peeps wait until the BH rush is over before they go away and as for what is saintmum going to test, well I think she is going to test herself. Putting the tent up, using new equipment, camping in general etc. Nothing wrong with that.
I totally agree magicaly note wrong with that at all But if she is in trouble, there are lots of campers about to help her out ,if she's on her own, where can she find a solution? She does say "We are going camping."

We prefer not to cam over BH weekends as the sites are too busy. By tomorrow pm, there will be lots of space in most sites!
too true, we are off tuesday morning for a couple of nights, cheaper, less traffic, less busy and (fingers crossed) the weather is meant to be better.
Sat and watched the traffic stationary on the M5 Friday and Saturday which is why I left it until Monday once the mad rush is over. Hopefully as campinggirl29 says by tomorrow people will be on their way home and the site will be quieter with a better choice of pitches.
Snap, off up North Wales tomorrow with 3 young kids and less than enthusiastic hubby so having major doubts. Just had a peep at campsite down road to see how tents are coping with the lashing. Some are flat & some are almost airborne !
But amongst all the chaos there were 2 kids playing tennis in the middle of it!!!!!
Just shows that even the worst weather doesn't spoil there fun, they'll probably always remember the huge Outwell 'kites'. Hopefully mine won't be one of them tomorrow !
Only able to get away tomorrow due to work/family commitments. Family consists of myself, OH, and the two kids (15 + 12) - as magicaly says we are testing ourselves, erection of tent, figuring out what gear we really need to take and packing of the car and top box so we leave enough room for ourselves!
I know from all the threads on website that there is a large group of fellow campers out there ready to offer advice or a helping hand!
