Hi Everyone,

first post on this website although I must say what an excellent site and very addictive!

We have just reurned home from our first outing with our brand new Montana 6 and whilst I accept that the weather this BH weekend has been particularly bad with driving rain and winds our Montana leaked along ALL of the seams where the SIG met the main walls. My question is do I take it back or is this to be expected for the kind of weather we have just experienced? Apart from the leaking the tent performed admirably and held together extremely well.

We love this tent and don't really want to get a different model unless advised otherwise! Grateful for all replies.

regards

TaffyD

We've just had the same problem with our Bear Lake 6 and the weather out Sheringham way. Took it back to the shop today. I'm not sure it should leak like it did.

Our Montana 6 also leaked from several of the seams. One seam at the bottom of the front window didnt even have tape on so as soon as it rained it started to drip in.As the weekend went on we also had water collect along the ground sheet /flysheet join but thought this may be condensation. Off to Go Outdoors now to see what they have to say.

Hi. First time on here. Felt I had to comment. Just been away for the weekend to Yorkshire with brand new Montana 6. Lots of rain and wind but not a leak in sight. Our friends also had one and again no leaks. I would definitely take it back.

Phoned my dealer today to tell him about the leaks and he is going to exchange it for another - no arguements or explanation required. Excellent dealer, that's the reason I bought from a shop rather than the internet as my BH can go tomorow and get it sorted ready for the next outing.

Really love the tent, got a friend currently in the South of France, also with a Monty bought from the same shop, who has had no probs. I think it's just a bad one and it's worth perservering with.

It's great to hear some good comments about Outwell tents, was beginning to think that there weren't any.

OH is at Go Outdoors now taking our Sun Valley 8 back - may still consider another Outwell after hearing this positive feedback

Yep, no leaks with our new Monty 6 either, family next to us with montana 12 with no leaks either. We had hail stone on Monday whilst packing up along with winds and not a drop in anywhere. We love this tent! We had a leaking Campingaz toilet, a flat airbed, a leaking Colemans Loveseat and a dodgy lamp, but thats nothing compared to a leaking tent.

Same thing happend to ours-LEAK!!!  Our first trip away this BH, with our new Montana 6 and it leaked!!  I was sure it hadn't until a fellow Montana camper came admiring our porch extension and carpet, and he explained that his had leaked abit under the bedroom floor sheet.  After examining mine together, mine had a small pool of water there too!!!  I thought it was just the water under our footprint and under sheet thingymagig!?!

Should I take it back??  Our friends Bear Lake leaked too under the window seams...Was it because of the heavy rains and wind??? I am worrying now, as ours is in the garden drying out...Should I pack it up and return it??
