we also check the forecast before we go, and if is is constant heavy rain we dont go. We go camping for cheap breaks and can not afford to pay to go in attractions etc each day, cost a fortune with three kids and most places will not let the dog in, We do go if it is mixed or light showers.

use the following for the 10 day forecast.

Sometimes i check a number of different areas and head for the place that seems to have the best chance of good weather, this can be difficult though with weekend pitches getting harder to find.

I am only starting out...I went away at the bank holiday (only as it was booked and paid for) weather forecast even had sleet for overnight! Well the weather wasn't bad at all, cold and a bit windy but we survived.

I think though that when we are just looking for going for a weekend I will check the weather forecast then book (did that this week and off tomorrow overnight) I don't really see the appeal of making myself go if I know that it is going to be horrible weather.

we are quite flexible but we have already postponed from mid May when a week of drizzle was forecast!

We were going to take pot luck with the weather next week (june can't be that cold.. can it Unsure smileys ) and won't cancel. We have nowhere to dry a tent so hopefully we can extend the stay until there is a dry day!

It isn't too far from home so i can come back for a break if needs be guiltysmiley smileys

i Think the cost of ocupying to many wet days is the main problem. Its only the two of  us and even if we just go for a drink (we dont drink a lot anyway) it adds up and still leaves time on your hands even if its for the evening, never mind if its a lousy day all day.

As i said earlier 4 days in a 10 day forecast wouldnt bother us much but over the last few weeks or its been showing anything between 6 and 8 days out of ten. Just too much.

The only good thing about bad weather is finding out if you have pitched the tent correctly.

I took the puddles of water inside doors of our tent as a hint that maybe I hadn't got it quite right!!

Although in my defence the wind was lifting up the bottom of the door.
