Hi, we camped for the first time this weekend in our new tent and took both our dogs (cocker spaniel and Dalmatian). Our tent is a Brekenridge Deluxe, with loads of room. 3 bedrooms, but the family only used 2, so the third contained the dogs bed. They loved it!! A little strange to them at first, but as long as they knew where the entrance was, they seemed to be ok. Pegged their long chain to the ground, and they spent most of the (dry) time outside. Our Dalmatian, did try and run through the side of the tent once though, but quickly learnt he couldnt. I suppose it all depends on the type of dog, and the size of the tent. May be a little trickier with a puppy though - accidents etc.
------------- Keep Smiling through it all!

Hello
We have just had a few days away with our 9 month Springer Spaniel. This was the second time he has been camping and i can say he enjoys it just as much as we do. He loves the attention from other fellow campers and has settled into camping life very well.
I think if you have a crate or small travel kennel and take him regularly to the excercise field you shouldnt have any problems.

Hi there
We took our 1 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier camping for the first time last weekend. We used the corkscrew thing with a long line (horse lunge from ebay £4) tied her up and gave her something to chew whilst we put the tent up.
We have 3 bedrooms in our tent so kids had one, we had the other and Bindi(dog) had the other. She is always crated at night at home so being crated in the tent didn't feel any different for her. We put lots of torn up newspaper in the bottom of the crate to help keep her warm and a big fleece blanket. Our tent has a SIG so no problems with her escaping when it was raining. But saying that she didn't even try to escape out the front door when it was open she was quite happy sitting at the door watching the world go by. I was quite worried about taking her camping, thinking she would cry all night and keep everyone awake but she was an absolute angel and will definitely be taking her again.
The site we stayed on is surrounded by woods so we could give her a good run off lead, I think having lots of exercise to wear them out is a good idea too.
The only problem I encountered was....you know when you wake up absolutely bursting for the loo, well Bindi always heard me getting up and was also bursting for the loo so I always had to quickly let her out for a wee first so she was quiet and didn't wake the whole campsite then run like the clappers to the toilets before I had an accident!!!
