I think you really need to shamelessly use your child to persuade her to come , I know you should't use your children in this way but you know..

I'd go with a bucket with lid and then WAG bags inside of the bucket. The fit nicely, are small and easy to use and then you just bag them and bin them the next morning. No hassle no swilling out buckets. I think this might persuade her a little more than just pee'ing in a bucket?!

What are you sleeping on? Make sure it's comfy and yes - skip the clothes as pillows and take some from home!

Good luck

Tony, book up, tell her you are going wether she wants to come with you or night, and buy her a bucket with a lid.

Got a new 6 man tent this morning, which I put up in the park. Discussed the splendour of it, and me and my son talked about all the fun we had the other weekend, and how she's missing out.

Asked her if there was a toilet, would that help - someone mentioned Lidl doing good ones at £30 - she said it might, but it's the bed really, if this new tent is comfortable with plenty of room.

I hate airbeds, she hates campbeds. I think we'll have to get a single airbed. I suggested the cheap lilo on top of the cupboard, which didn't go down well!

Keep the advice coming - I think it's working!

Tony, how about telling Mrs Tony that if she doesn't want to go camping with you, you don't mind as you have found someone at work who wants to go camping, someone called Tanya.

Tony, have a look at these self inflating mats http://www.alpkit.com/airic/ - the Fat Airic is £37.50 or £65 for two. They are great, really comfy. I don't like airbeds but the self inflaters are great.

Now this I need more beer before I try!

Mind you, she must be wondering about all the typing I'm doing....

These look great, thanks!

I couldn't possibly get the Fat Airic though, she really would think I was taking the ...

Anyone tried the General Purpose one?

Perfectly reasonable idea, but if it comes down to one or the other, you should give in with grace if it gets her to come along.

My Hubby was dead against an airbed till I bought a Coleman Double Comfort. It has two independant sides so stops that weird swimming sensation when the other person rolls over. And it`s comfortable. I wa just looking out the gear for the forthcoming Father and Son Cub Camp and put his Thermarest on the pile...he asked me if he could take the airbed!
