Have been lenat a cooker again this year but it runs on Supergas, which is a 7kg orange bottle (butane). Can't seem to find out where it can be refilled.
Is it possible to change the bottle over to a ble calor gas bottle instead if we can get a cheap one somehwere does anyone know please?
you would need to get your hands on a calor bottle and then the apropriate regulator if needed.the empty botles dont come cheep but most go to there local tip and get them from there for free or a drink to the bloke who you talk to. or ebay or freecycle
Why not stick with the cheaper alternative? Supergas is now part of Flogas - go to their website www.flogas.co.uk where you can search for a supplier near to you and you can exchange your empty cylinder for a full one, paying only for the gas.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
Have just phoned flogas at Romsey - Carole, you're a star and very right in what you say, can relax now knowing that we will be able to get bottle replaced while we're away after all
Glad the OP has found a solution to the problem but there seem to be a number of people (from different threads) who prefer not to use Calor. Is it the cost of buying the cylinders and/or cost or weight of refills or what? Just curious!
Maybe it's where I stay (no mains gas, but use gas for cooking), but I inherited two huge propanes with the house. I was donated an 11kg and a 6kg propane tank by the local dealers and just pay for refills. I did buy 3 15kg butane cylinders for localised heating for my elderly parents - electric storage heating way too expensive! and, because they shut the store down for two weeks over Christmas and New Year get the loan of three additional butane cylinders and only pay for the gas if they're used. The local dealer also checks with people who are elderly or caring for elderly folk relying on gas for cooking if someone returns a partially used cylinder - got a half full one once which was six months' worth of cooking!
Plus, where I travel, it's easy to find a stockist
Where am I going wrong?

Hi I made the mistake of buying 2 full bottles thinking they where calor I have spent a year going round local dealers who tell me Supergas does not exist any more I want a regulator for my space heater.
------------- If it ain't broke don't try to fix it!
ficklejade; I don’t use Calor because the bottles are bigger and bulkier than the modest sized Campinggaz bottle I use. The 4.5 one I think. Packing size is important to me, and the bottles last long enough that the more expensive gas isn’t an issue, and the DIY shop in out High Rd stocks refills.
If I needed a big domestic bottle I would use Calor.
