Yep, after months of talk, have finally been and bought a tent!! Despite the many comments on here we still went for an Outwell. Went for the Nevada L (hubby having finally desided that the idea of camping with the kids sounds fun). think I will still get a smaller tent for when it is just me and the girls.
We had our first test run last night in my parents field. a perfect evening and night for it, the kids loved it and slept better than they do at home, and even better - selpt in!!!!!
The tent is now getting a good rain test as typrical lakeland weather has set in so rather than take a wet tent down have just left it.
A few items of equipment still to buy, a few adjustments to make and we our off on our first trip!
Thanks to everyone for all your advise over the past few months really appreciated it, not sure which is more addictive camping or this site!
