Hi,

I've just purchased a Khyam Ontario 8, seems like a great tent but let down in the peg department. Why do they do that - design and manufacture a great tent then supply it with cheap nasty pegs - why not just supply it without pegs - rant over.

Anyway, I would greatly appreciate and tent peg suggestions. I am hoping to find an allrounder (for hard and soft ground) if that is possible. I appreciate that I will probably use different peg on guys and pole end/ground sheet but tht's OK. Does anyone have experience of the Delta peg? http://www.deltagroundanchors.co.uk/  How do they cope when the ground is hard.

All advice appreciated

Hi and welcome

Delta pegs are the king of pegs. I have no experience in using them in rock ground but I am sure will be along shortly with their experience

I have the plastic Deltas which are brilliant and I have just bought some of the metal versions to use in rocky ground which I have not yet used, the metal Delta's seemed to be made of stainless steel and are very strong looking, however they seem to have quite sharp edges where they hold the guy lines so I'am worried they might fray the lines.

Has anybody out there have any experiences using the metal Delta's?

I have only used the plastic delta pegs but very impressed with their holding ability in the high winds of last week especially as the ground was soft from the amount of rain that fell.

I have both plastic and metal.

The plastic ones appear to be better in dry, sandy soil and the metal ones better in hard ground - -

------  but that's just my opinion.
