We camped in the lakes last weekend, and after a bad night I got out of my half unzipped tent (which some pratt did in the middle of the night) to find a Bull Terrier wandering around on its own next to our tent. I'm just glad my littlle ones were in bed or they would of freaked! My 7yr old some is scared of dogs, largely due to my sister in laws little Westy going for him all the time. Anyway after 5 minutes I heard a whistle, not from the tent next door oh no, but one about 150 metres away.

I think you also have to think on that if your dog wanders into someones area or tent, they might just well give it a right gook kick or a whack with something. No I wouldnt! But lots of people would. So be kind to your mutt and keep control of it!

there are plenty of sites with good dog walking areas, my friend took her puppy last year, the kids were very happy to take him for plenty of walks, and everyone who passed out tents couldn't believe how well behaved an cute he was.  Just need to watch where they cock there legs up!

I have just started camping again after many years.took my 2 dogs ,the jack russell was fine cos she's a sweety , the GSD was a bit more  tricky cos he's a bit nervous and lively ( but he's only 8 mnths old ) problem with tethering him on a spike is that he bent the last one!!  does anyone know where to buy a  strong quality spike that would do the job.
