I've just got back from my first camping weekend and it was excellent!  Everything went without a glitch and my 4 year old loved it so much he wantd to stay another night.  In fact he slept in a sleeping bag on his bedroom floor last night.

Couldn't have picked a better site - friendly staff, park next door, clean facilities - only minor issue was the noisy neighbours (people and birds) but so knackered by second night we slept through it all.  Even stopped off at ALdi on way home to get some self-inflating mats, a sleeping bag and liner.

Picked up loads of tips on here and might have forgotten a few things without it - so thanks folks.  Now when can we go away again???

Wee council run site in Carnoustie.  My folks have a touring caravan and were there recently so it wasn't an unknown.  Its quite good location too as your not far from Dundee, Arbroath or Forfar.  Plus with the Open happening there in a few weeks everything is new and shiny in Carnoustie at the moment!!

Hi stockport6, one thing I will never forget since my first camping trip, is a firm rubber mallet for the the tent pegs......It's a must if the ground is stony.

Having read this website may too much before I went the only thing I could have done with was something to wrap the sandwiches in when packing our picnic!!  Ph and perhaps some earplugs or a shotgun to sort out the crows!!
