Well I managed to get the Starcamper up in the garden last Sunday. Its bigger than I thought and seems to have loads of room. Plenty headroom, as for ventilation, there are vents in the roof, the big side window and bedroom window and although it is full SIG, the SIG does not fully seal at the bottom of the side and front doors so there is ventilation there too. The bedrooms should easily sleep 2 in each and the divider removes for more room. It was a b**ger to put up first time but I think it will be much easier next time. On the downside there were a lot of black marks on the inside where the side door is which appear to be from the big zip on the door which has imprinted all over that side and you can see them from the outside. It has to go back to Towsure and they are now out of stock !! and I may have to wait 2 weeks for another. Cant complain I suppose since my dad paid for it and on another plus note my wife has just been given a yellow/black Sunncamp Stratus 8 by a friend for a bottle of wine , so we now have another tent the whole family can go away in. Does anyone have any experience of these Sunncamps, it looks good and seems to have plenty of room. Still dissapointed that I did not get away camping recently but my time will come I am sure. Oh I will stick some pics in gallery of the Starcamper and you will eventually get chapter and verse Mags, although now I am not sure for which tent lol .
Hi Andystewart,oh dear what a shame about the black marks , I wouldn't have expected that, hope you get this sorted out. They have sold out of starcampers on this site as well As for Sunncamp mine is a Sunncamp Pathfinder-got pic in my profile-I can't comment on your particulat model but if the spec is anything like mine ,you won't have a problem.Someone mentioned a Wynnster Mallard on here as being a good tent for a weekend or shorter stays. My tent is ideal but once I have it pitched I don't want to be taking it down so soon.!! A lot of people on here have more than one tent anyway so at least you have a choice.I'm still waiting for chapter and verse lol !!!
Hi.The problem of condensation can only be solved by ventilation as mentioned in the previous posts. Keep the heating down as much as possible and vent your tent! That just about sums it all up!
I have bought a Starcamper 3 from this site, but as yet I've not had it errected due to the weather, champing at the bit to get away but weather is putting me off. This months camping mag has a small review of the Starcamper 3, it's a small review but they give it 9/10. here's to better weather in August
