Hello All,

We have just returned from two nights at Manor Wood Caravan Park near Chester (highly recommended), and I have to offer my public thanks to my little Coleman Lakeside tent.  We arrived on site at 6pm Friday in heavy rain - it then rained continuously for 13 hours!!!  Despite not having the highest waterproof rating available, the tent coped really well.  No leaks or drips by the time we went to bed, so we snuggled down and hoped for the best, having put anything ruinable in the bedrooms with us!  By the morning, the rain was just beginning to ease off.  Still no leaks - just the odd drip (which could have been condensation I suppose).  I was relieved and very pleased - and having pitched a tent in the p***ing rain, I now feel like a seasoned camper!  Must get some waterproofs though - spent 30 minutes on Saturday morning ironing my jeans dry!

Well done you as well as your tent! We didn`t bother going camping this weekend because of the forecast. So good on you. You`re right though, you are now definatley a seasoned camper you can`t consider yourself having camped until you`ve spent a few wet nights in a tent!! Some of the best laughs we`ve had camping have been when the weather is just awful - but there is a sense of reall acheivement when you survive it. Waterproofs and wellies are a definatle must!

This is reassuring - my Lakeside 4, which I bought in a sale at the tail-end of last year, has only been up for a few days of fine weather in the garden.  But we are off for a couple of camps in August.

Am somewhat less apprehensive now.
