Well we did it!

Me, my daughter and little tent survived the weekend in torrential rain and thunderstorms!!! Did have one moment at about 3 in the morning when we wondered what we had done but my little Wild Country Stoer didn't leak a spot and kept us warm right through the w/e. Didn't get a chance to test the trangia stove as there was a lovely cafe on site and the fried breakfast was delicious! Pitching was a doddle and the only slight difficulty we had was trying to deflate an airbed small enough to get back in the rucksack! So it's definitely possible to camp without a car. Looking forward to our next trip now (hopefully without the rain!!)

Well done, I've been looking at smallet tents today as I'm desperate and gagging for it (to go camping, my two could manage their clothes in little rucksacks and sleeping bags, I could take the bug rucksack.)  Tempted with the gelert tornado 5 think I could manage thatone

Hooray for Wild Country - great company, great tents (wouldn't buy anything else!)  There's something really special about backpacking and camping - having everything you need on your back.  I can't wait to get back to doing things that way - three kids (5, 3 and 5 months), so it's going to be a while before they're able to carry their fair share (clothes, sleeping bags and sleeping mats).  When that happens I'm planning to try and carry our WIld Country Family Khamsin - not exactly light at 8kg+, but room for all five of us, and it's still a very sturdy tent despite its size.  I thought about checking out my friend's Wild Country Monsoon, to see if we'd all be able to squeeze into it - might be pushing it, but at 5kg it would be a bit more carryable.

Cool

Glad ya had a good time I remember last year me, Mum and my Sister went camping in a lichfeild Apache 3. Quite a squeeze lol, but we did it! Weather was horrible and we slept well and stayed dry. Didn't use the stove either, there was a brilliant little cafe in town, so we had breakfast 3 portions of egg and chips lol

Since then me and Mum are addicted to camping! lol my little Sister isn't so keen though lol

Cheers
