We have a luggable loo as I have a medical condition (UC) and couldn't go camping without it. For long stays it lives in a toilet tent but for weekends it just goes in the corner of the living area (we never put the groundsheet down) behind a chair. Supposedly it's just me that uses it (hmm...maybe) so rinse it at the Elsan point and wipe it out with a parazone wipe. In the tent with it I have loo roll and no-water handwash gel.
The first time I marched up the campsite with it I was sure everyone was looking, but you'd be surprised just how many people do have their own loo. And it's a small price to pay to be able to go camping.

Whats Zoflora and where can i get some ?
My friend suggested put a open nappy at the bottom of a bucket and in the morning you have a wet nappy and a dry bucket!!!
Please don't use nappies, WAG bags or biodegradable bags and cat litter are much more environmentally friendly! Personally I prefer a Porta-Potti and biodegradable toilet fluids.
Fair point teloz,
I have a 2 year old and a 4 month old so i guess i dont think of the environmental issuses, as use so many nappys! i do however use "nature" nappys as could not face reuseable ones.

Hi Liz
Fellow sufferer here, going camping for the first time this weekend as to be honest, it's the UC that's pretty much prevented me before - however I have a loo that the MIL has loaned us so I'm all set and also a bit more reassured to find a fellow sufferer who copes with it whilst away.
Just used porta potti for the first time on our trip . It was excellent, emptyied it twice and it was fairly easy. It was much appreciated when we had bad weather. Wouldnt trust my kids with a bucket. We stored it under a table in the corner and then left it in the middle over night. No smells at all.
Just bought a mobil toilet(basically a Thetford Porta Potti 135) from Lidl in Golborne, Warrington
I'm a newbie, seem to be buying lots of equipment (me thinks I must buy a tent at some point!), and persuading paranoid OH re someone taking our son or the tent burning down!
