Just bought ourselves a new Royal Montpellier 12 and it came with a free canopy. Thing is, it's too wet to erect the tent in the garden (as you do) and we are wondering how the canopy fits on. Dont suppose anyone has a photo of a canopy on their tent so that we get the general idea?

Taking the new tent to Bryn Gloch just down from Beddgelert in July, just hope it will fit on a pitch.

Thanks for any help.

Also, meant to ask if sites ask for more money when a canopy is used.

It gets worse, finally put the new tent up in the garden and tried the canopy as well.

Thing is it could fit on the tent various ways, none of which look right. The canopy is made to match the tent fabric but not apparently this or any other tent.

Hi there.   Although I have not got this tent I am sure it is almost identical to the hartford XXL.

On the canopy for the hartford it has 3 or 4 clips on the smaller dimension end which attach to the external poles over the tent door.  Once these are on you can then extend the canopy to get the length right and peg out,  Before this you would have to fit the bendy poles into the canopy to get the curved shape.

I also add extra guy ropes at the front of the canopy and use delta pegs to secure this down as it is quite a big open area.

Hope this makes sense and no we have never been charged extra for the canopy as essentially it is part of the tent.   We have however been to 1 site where the pitch was not big enough to put the canopy up.
