I rang up a couple of weeks ago to book an EHU pitch at a campsite in Shropshire.  During discussion, no mention was made of size of tent etc.  Anyway, turned up on Friday and owner asked us size of tent, we gave an estimate of the size of the Ontario 6 and she said she would class this as a "large" tent, which would normally incur an addiitional charge, however as they had had several cancellations (due to the weather) and because we were willing to brave the weather, she was happy to charge us just the normal rate.

Although the Ontario is fairly wide, it is not too deep and I wondered if others would class this as a large tent.  When anyone refers to "large tents", I always think of the Hartford XL/XXL!

Suggest in future you say that your tent is only 2.4 metres wide, and pitch it end on.  That way, the site might class it as a small or medium size.

Our Sun Valley is designed to be pitched end on, and we've never had any comments about "large tents".
