I recently bought a Cabanon Aruba off Ebay which is in fabulous condition and has a sun canopy and the utility annexe.  Really chuffed with my tent.  One thing is that it didn't come with a groundsheet for the living area because the people that sold it us said that they were using that in their awning.  The problem I've got is that I don't have a garden to put my tent up in so I have no idea how big the living area is so that I can buy a groundsheet for it.  I know I could take it somewhere to put it up and check it out but my other half isn't very well at the moment and it would need the both of us to put it up.  I have read many conflicting reports of the living area size and wondered if anybody who has one who is going camping in it could measure their living area for us and let us know what size groundsheet it needs.  Maybe there is someone out there who has had to replace the original groundsheet that could tell me what size it is?  So I don't get someone stating the obvious, I will, of course, put the tent up prior to going anywhere camping in it just so I know how it all goes up, just haven't got the available time at the moment or anyone to help me but want to get the stuff together that I need for the tent.

Thanks in anticipation of any assistance.

see here for dimensions

www.cabanon.com/gb/produit/frame_produit.htm

It could be a good idea to get one a biut bigger than the living area to go under the bedrooms to keep them clean and dry to help when you pack up and fold the bedrooms up.

We have a groundsheet but also have a large tarpaulin we fold to size. The tarp is alot cheaper to buy and does the same.

Oh my link does not take you right to the Aruba

Put in 6 for number of people and frame for type of tent. Select Aruba when it comes up and it will give you the dimensions you need.

Why don't you try a cabanon dealer for the groundsheet for example there is one here http://www.abc-camping.co.uk/details.aspx?id=451 .  I don't know anything about the dealers but they say that they stock this groundsheet.

Good luck with your new tent.

Hi, we have an Athena (older versionof Aruba) which we also bought off ebay a few weeks ago. Like you we need to buy a groundsheet. The owner did give us a PVC one but looking for a breathable one too as we are taking tent to france and hope for dry weather!! I cant find other than a cheap tarp a groundsheet big enough to go under whole tent. We have a cheap tarp for under the bedrooms but looking for something for living area.

Thanks for your help with your links for the groundsheet.  The link to ABC Camping is really helpful.  I shall email them and see what they can come up with.

I noticed that there was a price on there for a breathable groundsheet too but that is a whopping £70.00!  I only want a PVC one so that's no problem for me but might be for you Pager.  It is a large living area though and this does seem to be a fair price when compared with the cost of smaller breathable groundsheets.

I am really interested in the idea of using a tarpaulin though.  Do you reckon it would be possible to use this under the bedrooms and use it as the living area groundsheet too anyone?

If you just want cheap tarps then Tarpaflex Look pretty cheap[ and they have massive tarps which i'm sure would be plenty big enough to cover the whole floor of your tent.

mifty, thanks for the link, good choice of sizes but I think it will rustle too much in living area.

Linda Barker, not wanting to spend £70 on groundsheet after all the other expense this year. Think we will make do with the PVC one and look again later in the year.

Hi Pager

I can understand you not wanting to pay £70.00 for a groundsheet.  Was purely saying that it is a fair price when compared with how much this kind of groundsheet costs.  I am going to go for the PVC one too.  I think your comment about it rustling too much in the living area really made me think about that too.  Might be noisy at night.

Thanks for the help everyone.
